The JN Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge Maintenance Building is now running on solar energy. This 50kW system will produce about 75 megawatt-hours per year in energy to offset the facility's utility electricity usage.
The system was installed by our joint venture partner, Urban Solar Group with consultation and technical services provided by Florida Solar Design Group.
Special Note: This video was taken under special use permit from the park by a FAA Part 107 licensed UAS pilot. Do not use a UAS/drone in a national wildlife refuge unless permitted to do so. This facility borders the park.
